Record year for conveyor chain sales at FB Chain Ltd.
Despite fears over the state of the economy and the future of the manufacturing industry, UK industrial chain manufacturer and supplier, FB Chain Ltd. has reported a successful financial year with record growth in its conveyor chain business. “While so many businesses are struggling at the moment, we have seen a 70% growth in sales of conveyor chains, drop forged chains, conveyor sprockets and attachments to the bulk materials handling and processing industries,” says Managing Director of FB Chain, Peter Church. FB Chain attributes some of its success to its new website, conveyorchain.co.uk, launched in October last year. “We created a new website dedicated to the conveyor chain side of the business to increase awareness of our chain conveyor products within the UK market,” says Peter Church. However, FB Chain’s specific conveyor chain website has attracted visitors from all over the world, opening up a wealth of opportunities for the Hertfordshire-based company. FB Chain has long had strong export sales of conveyor chains, sprockets and other associated components within Europe but has now expanded its reach to new continents. “Our new conveyor chain product site has helped us secure major contracts with customers in the USA, South America,Thailand and Sri Lanka,” says Peter Church. As well as expanding into emerging markets, FB Chain has expanded its client base into new sectors within the bulk material handling industry. “We have always had strong sales within the wood and paper and pulp processing industries but we have been dealing with an ever increasing number of clients within the biomass and recycling markets,” says Peter Church. Expansion into these markets has lead to an increased demand for welded pin and bush conveyor chains in particular, due to their ability to withstand the shock and irregular loads frequently associated with these types of bulk material handling. “With the biomass and recycling markets growing at the rate they are, I see our conveyor chains, sprockets and attachments adapted to applications in these industries as the future of the FB Chain conveyor chain business,” adds Peter Church. |
