Vorsprung durch Plastik – German technology extends roller and conveyor chain life
Leading industrial chain manufacturer and supplier FB Chain is pleased to announce the introduction of a new range of plastic wear strips for use with roller and conveyor chains. Developed in Germany, the new FB wear strips (also known as chain guides) are manufactured from ultra high molecular weight Polyethylenes (UMHW-PE) to provide maximum wear resistance and durability for a multitude of transmission applications. “By incorporating these polyethylene chain guides into their roller transmission or chain conveyor systems, our clients will be able to substantially reduce the amount of friction occurring between the roller or conveyor chain and surrounding equipment. This will considerably extend the service life of the chain, saving on maintenance and replacement costs,” says FB conveyor chain specialist, Graham Barber. “The inclusion of plastic wear strips in a transmission or conveyor system will also remarkably reduce operational noise, thus aiding our customers in their compliance with workplace noise regulations,” he adds. FB Chain is able to supply the new plastic wear strips to suit single and multi-strand roller chains as well as conveyor chains in a wide variety of standard and extended pitches.
