Alan Longshaw

We are pleased to announce that Alan Longshaw has joined FBkc as our Technical Sales Engineer. Alan is a time served engineer who started his chain career over 25 years ago originally designing and drawing chains for a UK manufacturing company before moving into a sales role after realising he could improve the flow of information between sales and technical. For the last 10 years he has been running his own technical consulting business.

Based in Lancashire, Alan has been happily married for 25 years and has two daughters. Outside of work he likes to be very active, he is UKA Level 3 athletics coach, he also enjoys skiing and is already looking forward to visiting our sister company in the Austrian Tirol. He describes himself as a maths geek and enjoys solving puzzles.

Alan has worked with FBkc director David Chippendale previously, David explains “Customers are looking to improve chain performance, they are also looking for other connected products and often want us to provide installation for all the parts. We wanted to add someone to the team who is more than a salesperson, Alan has a strong mechanical background and his problem solving and consultative background will be very useful to us and our customers.”

Alan says “Running my own business has taken me into lots of different areas and it has been a great experience but in the last few years I have spent a lot of time behind a desk and I really miss the problem solving and customer interaction. When I heard about the direction FBkc was going, it was an easy decision to join.”

Chippendale concludes “At FBkc we will be focused on niche markets and will strive to be the best in those markets. I am sure Alan will play a key part in our future success.”
